dj790duke. Manual says 9300 miles or every year. I won't put that many miles on it in a year so it's every Spring for me. Agreed!! I used to change mine about every 3k mi or so, though like JD said, when I start to feel a lack of smoothness too it's time. I completely didn't agree with the manual as I feel like it is toooooooo long in between

john san. 54 posts ยท Joined 2014. #2 ยท May 22, 2021. I paid about that for my 890R last year. My dealer gave me a deal on the tech pack be cause I buy quite a bit of stuff from them - I think about $475. I've had both the cs shaft leak and the valve cover gasket leak on the right side.

but if you fear for reliability (as the 2017 is the first rev of the new gen) go for the 2018 or 2019 - as they mostly have the problems prev. ones might have had sortet out (like on the 790: headgasket, routing of the tank overflowt tube)

He said the 1290s had tons of electric and no start issues ad the 790 adv had warped rotors all the time and the 2 Vilipen 701 they had have clutch slave failures --I said haha I know, my son rented that 701 to try one day and the slave cal went and pissed fluid out and no clutch.
