There are many threads about batteries, start-stop not working, etc. but in a nutshell I’ve learned 2 things. 1- the battery MUST be a AGM battery. 2- if the battery is correct type, it could be a loose connection at the battery. The battery connectors are a PIA to get tight. 3- it could be the IBS going bad on the cable (positive cable I think) Open the center console. Toward the back of the center console, near the hinge, you’ll see a plastic cover. Remove the cover. Inside, there is an orange or red strap connected to a metal lever—this metal lever allows you to put the Grand Cherokee in neutral. Pull up firmly on the strap until the metal lever is vertical and snaps in place. In all 2011 to 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokees, the 12-volt battery is located underneath the passenger seat. However, there are terminal access ports underneath the hood to make jumpstarting the vehicle more convenient.

The dreaded A with exclamation symbol came up again for the 2nd time on my 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The first time, under warranty, dealer replaced the small battery for the stop start. If not replaced it will drain the main battery. The 2nd time the small battery died, I was told that I should leave the stop start on every now and then.
